Ken Izatt, a long-term resident of the City of North Vancouver, has announced his candidacy for a seat on Council.
“My straightforward promise is to put the people who live and work in the City of North Vancouver first in decision making,” Izatt said. “I commit to bringing practical fiscal management, transparency, accountability, community engagement and common sense back to City Hall.”
According to the news release, Izatt has 12 years of volunteer service with the city, including six years on the City of North Vancouver’s Social Planning Advisory Committee, where he gained insight into municipal government operations, and six years on the Friends Society Board of Directors for MONOVA, where he helped guide the museum’s vision from inception to its opening.
Izatt was inspired to enter the race after witnessing concerns over various issues in the City of North Vancouver and decided it was time to be part of a positive change, the press release noted. He said the upcoming civic election gives residents the same opportunity, encouraging them to vote on October 17.
“I am committed to bringing practical fiscal management and common sense back to City Hall,” Izatt said. “My straightforward promise is to always put the residents and businesses who live and work in the City of North Vancouver first in every decision.”
