#LynnValleyStrong: Be part of this community quilting project

Staff report
May 12, 2021 1:55pm

The North Vancouver District Public Library and artist Berene Campbell are inviting the community to be part of Lynn Valley Love, a healing project for the Lynn Valley community.

LOVE: A Community X-stitch is suitable for all experience levels. Locals are being invited to hand-stitch an ‘X’ to show their love and contribute to the community creation of an X-stitched LOVE quilt, which will be installed outside Lynn Valley Library this summer.

Pick up a kit from Lynn Valley Library, while supplies last, and follow the instructions provided to produce hand-stitched ‘X’s. The ‘X’s will be stitched together into a large mural spelling out LOVE.

Taking part is easy.

Locals can stop by Lynn Valley Library during open hours between May 13 and 16 and pick up a free kit, which are available first-come, first-served while supplies last.

Using the instructions provided, hand-stitch your ‘X’s. Each kit contains supplies three ‘X’s.

Return all three of ‘X’s to Lynn Valley Library before June 15. Everyone is welcome to participate. This project is designed for all experience levels but may not be suitable for younger children.

A limited quantity of kits are available while supplies last. Kits are limited to one per family. For those with supplies who would like to participate independently, click here for instructions.
