A man in his 60s died Sunday morning after being found in distress while scuba diving at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver.
According to a social media post, West Vancouver Police responded to a report of a scuba diver in distress at the park just before 10:45 a.m. on July 26.
Despite efforts from fellow divers, West Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services and BC Emergency Health Services Air Ambulance, the man did not survive and was declared deceased at the scene, the post noted.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, though according to the post on X, there are no early indications of suspicious circumstances related to the death. The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is investigating.
