Metro Vancouver has closed the Grouse Grind trail effectively today.
“In anticipation of forecasted snow and subzero temperatures over the coming days, the Grouse Grind Trail is closed effective 7 am, Tuesday, Nov. 10,” Metro Vancouver said.
“For your safety, that of park staff and of first responders, please respect the closure,” it said.
Parks staff will now assess conditions on the trail daily and will advise when the trail is safe to reopen.
Meanwhile, crews will be doing some hazard tree work on Thursday, Nov. 12 on the Grouse Grind Trail.
The trail will remain open, although there will be intermittent closures of 10 to 15 minutes where hikers must stop and wait while a tree is coming down.
