New Democrat MLA Susie Chant says that the province’s funding announcement will deliver much-needed affordable rentals to their community and help those with moderate and low incomes find homes that fit their budgets.
In North Vancouver, More Than a Roof Housing Society is building 166 homes for families and seniors through a partnership with Building BC: Community Housing Fund, the Province announce yesterday.
“Everyone deserves to have a place to call home, and projects like this help make sure we keep North Vancouver a place that’s welcoming for all to live in,” says Susie Chant, MLA for North Vancouver – Seymour. “I love the work of More Than a Roof Housing Society, and I can’t wait to see this project come to life thanks to the Community Housing Fund.”
The CHF is a $3.3 billion investment to build more than 20,000 affordable rental homes for people with moderate and low incomes by 2031-32.
“Everyone deserves a decent home they can afford,” said Premier David Eby. “That’s why we’re taking unprecedented actions to rapidly build more affordable housing throughout the province, including through the Community Housing Fund. This latest round of funding will bring much-needed homes to every region of our province – from our fastest-growing cities to rural and remote areas – helping everyone find a decent home in the community they love.”
A total of 17 new projects in Metro Vancouver have been selected through the third intake of the Building BC: Community Housing Fund (CHF). The proposed projects will provide 1,954 affordable rental homes for individuals, families, seniors, people living with disabilities and Indigenous people in B.C., the province announced yesterday.

This is all a drop in the bucket too little too late. I did not get a chance to give Eby a mandate . He is going way against convention and governing with no fresh mandate since becoming crowned leader ! Call an election so I can vote against you !
