More transit service is coming to Metro Vancouver this fall, including improvements on routes serving North Vancouver.

Starting Sept. 7, TransLink will improve bus service on 21 routes across Metro Vancouver, according to a news release by TransLink. The changes are intended to make commutes more predictable, improve connections to schools and workplaces, and support growing communities.

One of the changes is the extension of the R2 Marine–Willingdon RapidBus to Metrotown Station. According to the news release, the extension will provide a faster, more frequent, all-day connection between the North Shore, Vancouver, Burnaby and Metrotown.

The R2 extension, which was delivered three months ahead of schedule, will replace the 222 with more frequent, all-day RapidBus service between Park Royal and Metrotown Station. It will run every six to seven minutes during peak periods.

North Vancouver will also see improvements to service on 245 Phibbs Exchange/Capilano University, which will receive more weekday service to Capilano University.
