Neighbourhood Small Grants of up to $500 are available for individuals who have an idea to bring their community together. This grant program by West Vancouver Foundation was created to support small-scale community projects that build community strength and resilience, foster community creativity and well-being, and tackle social isolation.
The foundation said that the Neighbourhood Small Grants program is based on the idea that everyone is a valuable member of the community and that we all have something to share. Grants of $50 to $500 are available for a project to connect people socially or involve sharing skills or talents.
Projects must be free to attend and participate in, and they are for individuals (not businesses or organizations). Some of the projects include block parties, emergency preparedness meetings, community gardens, free workshops such as a cedar weaving, art and writing.
On April 16, there will be a free information session. If you are interested in holding your project, be sure to attend this session to learn more:
- Date/time: April 16th, 4:00 – 5:30pm
- Location: Silk Purse, West Vancouver
- Register, space is limited
The Neighbourhood Small Grants program was created by the Vancouver Foundation in 1999, based on the idea that everyone is a valuable member of the community and that we all have something to share. The NSG Program is offered throughout BC.
Since 1979, the West Vancouver Foundation has worked to leverage the generosity, talent and commitment of the West Vancouver residents to build a stronger, more caring and inclusive community. Our vision is a healthy and vibrant West Vancouver, where everyone is valued, contributes and feels they belong. Our three key priorities are philanthropy, grants and insights.
