At an upcoming council meeting on January 9, District of North Vancouver council will discuss a rezoning proposal for a cannabis store in Lynn Valley. Nimbus Cannabis has applied for a cannabis store at the Lynn Valley Centre mall. The unit is located at the back of the mall fronting Conifer Street.
According to a DNV staff report, the store is connected to the internal mall area but the applicant plans a frosted glass wall at the internal entrance. The proposed retail store is approximately 1,150 square feet and consists of a sales area, staff lounge, storage area, and bathroom.
The application as proposed has been reviewed by the LCRB and has passed their preliminary fit and proper assessment, according to the council report. The proposal has also been reviewed by District staff, and no concerns were raised.
The application for a cannabis retail store at the subject site complies with all of the criteria of the Non-Medical Retail Cannabis Policy, and based on that, staff recommends the rezoning bylaw be given first reading and referred to a Public Hearing. So far, DNV Council has approved four retail cannabis stores: One in Seymour, one in Lynn Creek and two in the Lions Gate area.
