City of North Vancouver council will vote this coming Monday on a rezoning application for a new rental apartment building proposed in Lower Lonsdale.

The application is for a six-storey rental apartment building at 145-153 East 4th Street.

It will consist of five levels of rental units with a total of 69 units plus a rooftop amenity level with indoor and outdoor amenity spaces.

The proposal will replace an existing two, 2-storey apartment buildings that provide 20 existing market rental units.

The existing building are located in Lower Lonsdale on the south side of East 4th Street between Lonsdale Avenue to the west and St. Georges Avenue to the east.

This area consists mainly two and three storey apartment buildings and some townhouse buildings.

The first five levels will be apartments, with the sixth floor being a common amenity space, over one and one-half levels of underground parking.

Of the proposed units, seven are proposed as Mid-Market units that would be secured through a Housing Agreement for the life of the building.

According to a staff report to council, the applicant has obtained a private company to manage the relocation of existing tenants and has offered four months’ notice, financial assistance and tenant relocation services.

As of now, 14 of the 20 tenants have either found new accommodations on their own or have been relocated using this service.

The applicant has also agreed to pay a $30,000 contribution towards a future pedestrian/cycling signal at the corner of St. Georges Avenue and East 4th Street.

Council will be debating and voting on this application at a council meeting on Monday, February 8.

I might need to brush up on my math skills
    From the article:
It will consist of five levels of rental units with a total of 69 units plus a rooftop amenity level with indoor and outdoor amenity spaces.
The applicant is proposing 20 studio, 20 one bedroom, and ten 3- bedroom units.
    20+20+10 = 69?
