A North Shore organization that supports vulnerable residents through housing, youth and senior services, and survivor care is launching under a new name.

Hollyburn Community Services Society has rebranded as The Hollyburn Society, according to a press release issued June 4. The organization says its programs and purpose remain unchanged.

According to the press release, the charity has operated on the North Shore for more than 20 years, serving youth, seniors, survivors, families, and individuals facing housing insecurity, domestic violence, and other hardships.

“This new chapter reflects who we are today and where we are going,” executive director Mark Friesen said in the release. “It reflects what we’ve learned over twenty years of service on the North Shore, and the commitments our team made through the development of a new strategic framework to guide our work.”

The rebrand is anchored by the tagline Find a Way Forward, which the organization says reflects a belief that seeking help should feel neither shameful nor confusing.

Friesen said the society’s renewed focus centres on what he called “Residences, Resources, and Relationships,” with an emphasis on early intervention before hardships escalate into crises.

“We know that when someone is struggling, asking for help can be one of the hardest steps to take,” he said, according to the press release. “Our team takes the time to listen, understand what is happening, and help connect people to the right support.”

The Hollyburn Society remains an independent registered charity.
