A ‘beloved’ member of the North Shore Rescue team has passed away. Nan, a Belgium Malinois search-and-rescue dog, died today.
Nan was a registered search dog with the British Columbia Search Dog Association, starting her career with Bella Coola Valley SAR before joining North Shore Rescue five years ago.
She was 11-and-a-half years old.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that NSR has lost a team member today,” North Shore Rescue announced on Facebook.
North Shore Rescue remembered Nan as a ‘sweet girl’ with a love for the wilderness.
“She helped our team on many search calls, as well as at countless educational events. She never failed to get smiles out of those she encountered, and we will sorely miss her company.”
RIP Nan, and bless you for your valuable work with NSR.
