The Museum of North Vancouver (MONOVA) is hiring actor-interpreters, who will lead outdoor performances in outdoor locations this summer.

These locations are the Punch Clock Portal in the Shipyards and the City Plaza in Central Lonsdale.

Each Actor-Interpreter will be responsible for rehearsing and performing two scripts based upon the history of North Vancouver’s shipyards and streetcar service to residents and visitors.

As well, they will engage and interact with people of all ages about the content of the performances and its relevance to today as well as draw out people’s impressions and stories.

The Interpreters will gain experience as actors, in stage management and promotions, and will be supervised by NVMA staff and will be mentored by a theatre professional.

This is a summer position that begins on May 10 and continues until August 29.

The deadline to apply is April 16 at 5 pm.

The ability to lift 35 pounds, good computer skills, and a  valid clean BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence and Criminal Record Check are among the skills preferred for these positions.
