A $50,000 wedding ring was reunited with its owner after a North Vancouver RCMP officer’s detailed report helped connect the lost item with a ring turned in by a good Samaritan.
According to the social media post by the North Vancouver RCMP, the officer was assisting the University RCMP with extra duties on a day off when they received a frantic call from a woman who reported losing her wedding ring along the Pacific Spirit Trail in Vancouver. The ring featured a 3-carat diamond and was valued at approximately $50,000.
The officer took the report and documented a detailed description of the ring. Shortly afterward, a good Samaritan turned in a ring to the North Vancouver RCMP detachment. According to the post, a civilian employee reviewing reports recognized that the ring’s description matched the one from the University RCMP file.
The next day, the same officer who had taken the original report was able to reunite the ring with its extremely grateful owner. The post said that the initial report’s attention to detail helped connect the ring with its rightful owner, with a good Samaritan, civilian employee, and officer each playing a role in its recovery.
