North Vancouver RCMP are asking for public assistance in locating missing hiker, Howard Moore.
Today, a friend of Moore reported him missing to Vancouver Police Department. The friend last saw him on June 25th, 2021, and believed Moore planned to go hiking in North Vancouver near Grouse Mountain.
North Vancouver RCMP frontline members searched for Moore’s vehicle and located it in the parking lot at Grouse Mountain. A note had been left in the window of the vehicle that read, “Gone to Skyline Trail, 27 June”.
Moore is described as:
Caucasian male
74 years old
light brown hair
medium build
unknown clothing description
North Shore Rescue have been called out and are currently engaged in a search, including using their helicopter.
“We are very concerned for his wellbeing, particularly due to the incredibly hot weather these past few days.” said Sgt. Peter DeVries of the North Vancouver RCMP.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen Mr. Moore to contact police at 9-1-1.
