North Vancouver RCMP is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who fled from police on an e-dirt bike.
According to the news release, an officer from the North Vancouver RCMP Traffic Unit was conducting proactive enforcement on July 23, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., when he observed two individuals riding an e-dirt bike on Highland Boulevard toward Edgemont Boulevard. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop, but the riders failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. The officer did not pursue, due to safety concerns for the riders and the public.
“In an effort to identify the suspects, police are releasing images of the riders and are hoping the public will help identify them,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP.
The police and public safety partners have conducted educational campaigns since January 2026 targeting parents and youth about the dangers of e-dirt bikes and e-scooter-related safety issues. The campaigns followed an increase in complaints about unsafe, reckless and illegal use of e-bikes and e-scooters on streets, in parks and in other public spaces, with a significant proportion of concerns involving youth riding without helmets, operating on sidewalks and travelling at excessive speeds in pedestrian areas.
“While our education and enforcement efforts have worked, there continues to be a small group of individuals who continue to defy the law and the B.C. Motor Vehicle Act by riding these e-dirt bikes illegally,” Sahak said. He added that parents need to speak to their children about e-dirt bike ownership, noting the bikes are not street legal and must only be used where permitted. Failing to do so puts children and others at risk and may result in enforcement action, Sahak said.

Interesting … north Vancouver police have been called to deal with a father putting a 10 yr old child on a ebike/motorcycle that is not street legal because it goes to fast . No proper seat and travels in nvan … dispatch asked what the concern was upon this complaint … and had no answer for my concerns or safety for this child when this bike can do 120 km/hr . They said this is a grey area . Definitely disappointing for a mother who has shared concerns about this being the main method of transportation… so … when will they care … when an accident happens ? Instead they turned it on me asking me what I can do to prevent this … it’s sick !
