North Vancouver Community Players present ‘Trying’, a drama by Joanna McClelland Glass, directed by Karen Cresswell and produced by Anne Marsh.

‘Trying’ is a two-character play based on the author’s experience during the years 1967-1968 when she worked for Francis Biddle at his home in Washington, D.C. Judge Biddle had been Attorney-General of the United States under Franklin D. Roosevelt. After the war, President Truman named him Chief Judge of the American Military Tribunal at Nuremberg. The play is about a young Canadian girl and an old Philadelphia aristocrat “trying” to understand each other.

Scott Alpen will play Judge Francis Biddle and Kelsey Robertson will be in the role of Sarah Schorr.

Production dates are April 15-16, April 20-23 (including a matinée on Saturday, April 23 @ 2 pm) and April 27-30, 2022 (preview Thursday, April 14 – $10) in The Theatre at Hendry Hall, 815 East 11th Street (two blocks east of Grand Boulevard), North Vancouver. Curtain: 8 pm. Ticket prices: $20 ($18 seniors/youth 18 and under).
