Three teams from North Vancouver’s Planet Rhythmics club represented Canada at the Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) World Cup and Open Cup in France from April 30 to May 3, earning silver and bronze medals in their categories. All three teams qualified for the finals, marking a major international achievement for the North Shore club.

Competing against 176 teams from 24 countries, Planet Rhythmics demonstrated Canada’s growing presence among leading AGG nations such as Finland, Bulgaria, Russia, Estonia, and the United States.

The Vancouver athletes stood out for their precision, elegance, and expressive choreography, featuring unique music and emotionally driven themes that drew comparisons to the work of well-known choreographers from the world’s top-performing AGG countries and teams.

At the World Cup level, where competition margins are extremely tight, reaching the podium reflects years of disciplined training, teamwork, and high-performance execution against the world’s top teams.

All media materials from the event are provided by Canadian photographer Dmitry Serpakov, a member of the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) and the BC Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics Federation (BCRSGF), and are available on Instagram at @graceinlens.
