A North Vancouver resident is planning to invest in his future after winning a $100,000 MAXPLUS prize from Lotto Max.
According to the news release, Odel P. checks his lottery tickets every few weeks and attempted to scan the winning ticket himself before asking a retailer to scan it for him. The ticket, from the July 3, 2026 draw, turned out to be worth $100,000.
“I check my tickets after a couple of weeks and I tried to scan the ticket,” Odel said. “Then I took it to the cashier to have her scan, and she told me I won!”
Odel first shared the news with his wife, who did not believe him at first, according to the news release. He plans to set aside some of his winnings to invest for his future. Describing how it feels to win, Odel said, “It still feels like I am in shock.”
According to the news release, the winning ticket was purchased at a lotto kiosk at Park Royal in West Vancouver. Every Lotto Max draw includes multiple $100,000 cash prizes, with a $100,000 prize added to the draw for every $1 million in the main jackpot.
