Police stopped the rider and learned he was a learner driver who was reportedly running 15 minutes late for his ICBC motorcycle road test.
The rider was issued violation tickets for driving contrary to licence restrictions by operating without a supervisor, driving contrary to licence restrictions by exceeding the maximum permitted speed of 60 km/h, failing to display an “L” sign, failing to signal a lane change, and driving without due consideration for other road users.
The motorcycle was subsequently towed.
Vancouver Police also reminded motorists that its officers have the authority to issue violation tickets anywhere in British Columbia.
