One man has been arrested and is facing potential charges after a police incident led to a heavy police response in the North Vancouver area on Tuesday afternoon. In an unrelated incident, North Vancouver RCMP issued a warning to the community after two suspicious fires.
Authorities encountered the suspect in the 100 block of Takaya Place in a residential area near Mountain Highway. According to Constable Mansoor Sahak, spokesperson for North Vancouver RCMP, officers responded to reports of an assault inside a residence. Upon arrival, they were met with an uncooperative man, and police suspected he had weapons with him.
Sahak confirmed with the North Shore Daily Post that more officers from the emergency response team were called, and the suspect was successfully arrested without any injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and the RCMP is currently recommending charges to the Crown.
