Tara Valente’s ordinary day at work turned out to be ‘extra’-ordinary after she learned that she had won the $500,000 Extra prize from the February 27, 2024, Lotto Max draw.

“I was in disbelief! I was motivated to buy a ticket because I saw my dream house down the street was for sale,” recalled Valente of the moment she realized she won. The North Vancouver resident plans on investing some of her winnings and hopes to purchase her dream house. Overall, she said she is “excited for security.”

On how it feels to win? “I am happy!”

Valente purchased the winning ticket at the Chevron gas station on Capilano Road and Woods Drive in North Vancouver.

According to BCLC, so far in 2024, lottery players have redeemed more than $14 million in winnings from the Extra and more than $47 million from Lotto Max.  Players can purchase tickets at lottery retailers or at PlayNow.com. Winning numbers and group release forms can be found online at www.bclc.com.

Last year, another North Vancouver resident, Ryoichi Yamada won $2.5 million on PlayNow.com
