Get ready to witness a truly one-of-a-kind theatrical experience – a blend of opera and comedy like never before! The acclaimed tenor, Luciano Paparazzi, will take the audience on a journey through the last century of popular music while also educating them on why opera is the greatest form of music ever devised.
Paparazzi will take the audience through the last century of popular music and “educate” you on why opera is the greatest form of music ever devised. Because, in his over-inflated opinion, all “pop music” has been influenced and shaped by it. Is it true? Who knows? Paparazzi believes so, and would it really hurt to hear the man out? The worst scenario is that you have some great laughs and listen to excellent music in this good production, clean silliness for audiences of all ages.
Canadian theatre professional Kieran Martin Murphy will be playing the role of Paparazzi and other musical greats, including Tom Jones, Roy Orbison, and Elvis, to prove his point. The show will tickle your funny bone and delight your ears, so don’t miss it! With special guests Gabrielle McCurdy-Foreman and Tiffany Bishop, Bruce Petherick on keyboards and Emma Thorpe on fiddle.
The show will run from May 2 to 18 (Wed-Sat at 7:30 pm, except Sat, May 4 at 2 pm only) at the Deep Cove Shaw Theatre, North Vancouver, BC. A shuttle will be available from Parkgate Community Centre for the matinee. First Impressions Theatre, a registered non-profit society, is celebrating its 40th year of theatre. Tickets available at www.firstimpressionstheatre.com.
