Better Business Bureau Serving Mainland BC (BBB) in partnership with Upper Lonsdale Preschool, Family Services North Shore and its accredited businesses Silver Bullet Shredding and Edgemont Moving and Storage will be hosting a Drive Through Shredding Event on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The event will be held at 355 West Queens Road, North Vancouver in the District of North Vancouver Municipal Hall parking lot.
There is no fee for the shredding services, however, donations will be accepted from the public, with all proceeds being split equally between the Upper Lonsdale Preschool and Family Services North Shore to help with their respective operating expenses.
“Donations are an opportunity for the community to help out these organizations that have faithfully offered their services to the North Shore for over 60 years,“ said Meaghan Crawford, the event organizer.
BBB invites all families and small businesses to participate, with a maximum of four banker boxes or 100 lbs of documents per person for disposal. A mobile shred unit from Silver Bullet Shredding will be on site to destroy documents as they are brought in by the public.
“Consider disposing of documents such as credit card and bank statements, old cheques, income tax returns over 7 years old, outdated customer files and invoices, old utility bills, credit applications, insurance records, physician statements, employment applications and credit card receipts,” said Karla Laird, Senior Manager, Media & Communications at BBB. “Many of these documents contain confidential information that if put into the wrong hands, could leave you at risk for identity theft.”
COVID-19 protocols will be observed at the event. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicles and volunteers wearing masks will collect their donations and documents for shredding. BBB thanks Silver Bullet Shredding for donating its services.
