Starting Thursday, January 27, the 100 block of East 23rd Street is being temporarily closed by the City of North Vancouver.
The road closure on East 23rd is to allow crews to safely remove large underground boulders and complete installation of utilities. Flag personnel are on site to help direct traffic, but access to Harry Jerome Recreation Centre will be maintained. Please expect delays in this area and choose an alternate route.
This road closure is expected to occur from January 27-28 and January 31-February 1. The 100 block E 23rd will be open after 4 pm on these dates, and fully open on the weekend Jan 29 and 30. Access to Harry Jerome is available via St Georges & E23. The road will be reopened the weekend of January 29-30.
The City is replacing the aging sewer, storm and water mains along East 23rd Street between Lonsdale and St Georges. As part of this work, overnight road closures are required.
Last week, the 100 block of East 23rd Street was temporarily closed to allow crews to safely remove a large concrete pipe that was discovered under the road.
