The lower part of the BCMC Route at the Grouse Mountain has been closed since April 4 for trail upgrades and will remain closed until Thursday, June 30.
Although the route is closed, it is possible to use a detour along the Baden-Powell and Larsen trails to reconnect with the upper part of the BCMC near marker 29.
If conditions allow, the BCMC Route will be open for use on Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays.
During those times, trail users need to remember that they will be passing through active construction areas and will need to use extra caution.
Meanwhile, the Grouse Grind Trail remains closed due to snow and ice. Metro Vancouver is requesting people to respect the closure. “For your safety, that of park staff and of first responders, please respect the closure. Parks staff will assess trail conditions daily and advise when the trail is safe to reopen,” Metro Vancouver said.
