Parts of Marine Drive and Fell Avenue will be closed for paving over the next two nights for Mosquito Creek Bridge replacement.
Marine Drive will be closed from Hanes Avenue to Bewicke Avenue, and Fell Avenue will be closed from 3rd Street to W16th St.
CNV is asking residents to use alternate routes, which include, West 2nd Street and West 1st Street for lower level routing, and West 16th Street and Larson Road or Highway 1 for upper level routing.
On June 21 and June 22, Marine Drive and Fell Avenue will be closed from 8 pm to 5 am.
This bridge located on Marine Drive between Fell Ave and Bewicke Ave is nearing its end of life, and the long planned construction of a replacement bridge is underway.
“Once complete, the new bridge will offer significant safety and travel improvements for cyclists, pedestrians, transit users and drivers,” CNV says.
The new bridge will include four lanes of traffic, transit lanes in each direction, wide sidewalks on both sides, and a new multi-use path under Marine Drive connecting the Mosquito Creek trail.
