Many cyclist feel that rules of the road do not apply to them. Failure to indicate turns in traffic with hand signals, walking their bicycle where only pedestrian traffic’s allowed, electric assist bikes screaming down bike trails…like anything else going on with traffic in this city, the lack of enforcement is the culprit. Stop the perpetrator of the offence, fine them or even seize the bike if they argue. My heart goes out to the family of the man that passed, I am of his vintage and ride my bike all over town and all of the bike paths around Stanley Park and False creek. Most folks are really courteous and considerate..,some ride like they’re in a perpetual bad mood! Lighten up folks…take your time and let’s take care yourself of each other. One more thing…confiscate all electric motorcycles on bike trails. They’re a motor vehicle. Not a bike!🏍️
All who cycles need a license and insurance. ICBC should charge a minimal fee for these. ($10 for anum)
