BC Hydro has a planned power outage in the District of North Vancouver.
BC Hydro has planned power outages that will impact Hydro customers in some North Vancouver neighbourhoods that are currently serviced from the old Capilano Substation.
- May 4th in Handsworth and Canyon Heights neighbourhoods (8:30 am – 5:30 p.m)
- May 13th in Grousewood neighbourhood (8:30 am – 5:30 p.m.)
- May 15th in the Cleveland neighbourhood (8:30 am – 5:30 p.m.)
According to BC Hydro, these outages are necessary to move customers to the newly built Capilano Substation safely.
Service from the new substation improves the reliability of BC Hydro’s system and allows it to service this area better. This is part of a larger plan to switch over customers over the coming months, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.
BC Hydro has already notified impacted customers, but residents can visit the Planned Outages section of the BC Hydro website for more details or call 1-800-244-9376.
