District of North Vancouver crews are salting the road and monitoring the weather to respond to snowfall in the district.
“Our plows are tuned up, crews are trained, and salt is stockpiled. We are salting the road and monitoring the weather forecast so we are ready to respond to snowfall when needed,” district said.
DNV can have as many as 14 trucks on the road to ensure streets are safe in case of heavy snowfall. Snow plow crews also work round the clock when that happens.
Major arterial streets, bus routes and emergency services access are the priority routes in case of a heavy snowfall., followed by collector streets and streets leading to schools and local streets.
In case it starts to snow really hard, it is possible DNV crews are not able to get to local streets in time. “If this is the case, please be patient, we may be working on keeping the major arterial routes safe,” district says.
