Police investigate after shots fired at North Vancouver home

Staff report
April 24, 2022 3:09pm

North Vancouver RCMP are investigating after shots were fired at a home in the City of North Vancouver.

On April 24, at approximately 3 am, North Vancouver RCMP responded to multiple reports of gunshots fired at a home in the 400 block of East 11th Street.

Investigators are actively working to identify the suspects and the target of this shooting, though police don’t have a motive yet. No one was injured and there is no evidence to suggest anyone was struck with a bullet. Witnesses reported seeing two individuals, one of whom fired at the home and then fled in a vehicle.

The vehicle, which is described as a newer model white Toyota RAV 4, was last seen southbound on Moody Ave. from East 11th Street. Police are appealing for anyone who may have captured dash cam or CCTV footage to contact them.

The home that was targeted is known to police and has been the subject of numerous reports related to drugs, violence and other offences in past several months. North Vancouver officers are working closely with their policing partners to find the person behind the shooting, the motives and if there are connections to other shootings in the Lower Mainland.

“We stand united with our partners across all communities to stand up against these reckless acts that endanger our neighbourhoods,” said Sgt. Peter DeVries of the North Vancouver RCMP.
