West Vancouver Police are seeking public assistance investigating a reported assault at Ambleside Park Tuesday evening. Shortly after 9:30pm Tuesday evening, police were called to the entrance of Ambleside Park near 13thStreet.
Officers were advised a woman had parked her vehicle and was preparing for a run on the Spirit Trail when a second woman approached with a flashlight and began taking pictures of the alleged victim’s car and licence plate.
Officers were told a confrontation happened when the complainant questioned the second female, followed by the suspect pepper spraying the complainant and walking away on the Spirit Trail. The suspect was described as an elderly woman, approximately 162cm tall (5’4”), wearing a black, puffy jacket and walking a dog. Extensive patrols of the area were conducted. No suspect was found.
The alleged victim was provided treatment at scene by BC Ambulance. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the alleged assault or has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Cst. John Hogan at 604-925-7300.
