Power on North Shore should be restored by noon: BC Hydro

Staff report
May 18, 2021 10:24am

Power is expected to be restored on North Shore by noon, says BC Hydro.

Strong winds have left 1440 customers in North Vancouver without power this morning when tree branches fell on hydro lines, said Susie Rieder, senior media relations advisor for BC Hydro.

Rieder told the North Shore Daily Post that hydro crews have made ‘good progress’ restoring over half of affected customers so far.

She said all customers on North Shore can expected to have power restored back by noon.

“By noon all affected customers should have power restores,” she said.

The power outage affected customers in parts of Cedardale in West Vancouver, and Capilano reserve and Norgate neighbourhoods in North Vancouver.

According to BC Hydro, the outage affected customers at south of Keith Road, north of Stanley Park causeway, west of Khatsilano Road, and east of Marine Drive.
