District of North Vancouver is holding an online public hearing for a supportive housing project at the district-owned site at the corner of Lloyd Avenue and West 16th Street.

The application for the project at 1557 Lloyd Avenue will be presented at a public hearing, which will take place on March 2 at 7 pm.

To arrange to provide input at the virtual hearing, please email the Municipal Clerk before noon on Tuesday, March 2.

During the hearing, DNV will provide an opportunity for additional speakers to provide input by phone, once those on the speakers’ list have been heard.

Instructions on how to do so will be given during the hearing. Residents can also submit input in writing up to the end of the public hearing at input@dnv.org

Input via email can also be sent to the Municipal Clerk’s office

The site at 1557 Lloyd Avenue includes nine parcels of District-owned land currently licensed for the storage of vehicles.

Adjacent uses include light industrial, commercial, and mixed-use commercial/residential buildings.

DNV is working with BC Housing and RainCity Housing, to develop a five-storey building with 60 supportive housing apartments for women and women-led households experiencing homelessness, or who are at risk of homelessness.

“A public hearing is your opportunity to speak to Council if you feel your interest in property will be affected by a proposed bylaw,” district said.

If approved by council, construction will begin in fall 2021.
