The District of West Vancouver has received a preliminary development application for a 11-unit infill rezoning project at 2882 Marine Drive, east of the 29th Street tennis courts.

Anken Marchands architect is holding a preliminary public information meeting to present and discuss the preliminary development proposal. The info meeting will be held on September 28 at the West Vancouver Presbyterian Church at 2893 Marine Drive, from 5 pm to 7 pm.

A short presentation will be provided by project architect at 5:30 pm followed by a question and answer period, and feedback forms will be available.

The plan is to rezone the existing 28,250.6 square feet property to allow two fourplexes and one triplex for a total of 11 infill units. The site will continue to be accessed from the existing driveway location and tree retention is proposed on the perimeter of the site to minimize visual impact and maintain privacy for the neighbours.

This proposal has not been formally submitted as a rezoning and is still within the preliminary development application stage. Once submitted as a formal rezoning, the District will process the development application in compliance with the Development Procedures Bylaw that requires ongoing public consultation.

The proposal will be reviewed for compliance with Official Community Plan policy which aims to increase infill housing options on appropriate sites along the Marine Drive Transit Corridor. This proposal is in the initial pre-planning stages of the approval process and has not been formally submitted to the District of West Vancouver.
