The proponent of a new rental apartment building in Lynn Valley is holding a public information meeting about the project. Redbrick Properties Inc. has applied to develop the site at 1149-1155 Lynn Valley Road. The application proposes 66 market rentals in a six-storey building with parking for 58 vehicles in an underground parkade. There will be four spaces for visitors and 112 bike storage spaces.

The site is currently occupied by two single family homes. The site is located adjacent to the southeast side Lynn Valley Road and separated from the ‘Black Bear’ neighborhood pub, situated to the northeast, by an existing service lane and greenway. The Kay Burrows recreational park is to the north, and a 60-unit strata housing development is to the southwest.

October 23 to November 6, 2023 — Virtual information meeting

The applicant will be hosting a virtual public information meeting, which is required by DNV as part of the development application process. It’s a chance to learn more about the application and share your thoughts.

A link to the virtual meeting will be available here at 8 am on October 23.

October 25, 2023 — In person Public information meeting

The applicant will be hosting an in-person public information meeting. It’s an opportunity to meet the applicant, learn more about the proposal, ask questions, and share your views. The in-person meeting will be held from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at The Mollie Nye House, located at 940 Lynn Valley Road.

For more information, those interested can contact Abdul Jiwan of Redbrick Properties at abdulj@redbrickproperties.ca or at 604-522-5210.

District of North Vancouver is also holding a virtual neighbourhood information session for a supportive housing project at East Keith Road. DNV is working with its partners BC Housing, Lu’ma Native Housing Society, and Vancouver Coastal Health to develop the site in the 1200 block of East Keith Road for a six-storey building with 60 studio homes, and five units with Complex Care Housing services for members of North Shore communities who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It includes on-site parking spaces for staff and visitors.
