The mountain biking community in North Vancouver and beyond is mourning the loss of Andrew Chu, a local resident who passed away after an accident in trails near Cypress Park.

In the wake of this tragedy, Chu’s friend, Matt Ross, has started a GoFundMe page to support his wife, Kaede. The goal is to ensure that she is looked after and supported during this difficult time.

“On Saturday we lost our beloved friend Andrew Chu. Chu put a smile on the face of everyone he met. He was a fantastic mountain biker and amazing friend to a ton of people,” Ross wrote. “He was a pillar in the mountain bike community. His humour, encouragement, and genuine care for others will be missed in the woods of the North Shore. He will be remembered as a freeride mountain bike legend.”

If you knew Andrew Chu or have been touched by his story, consider donating to the GoFundMe page in honor of his memory.
