Shooting on Capilano Reserve in West Vancouver sends one to hospital

Three suspects have been arrested by West Vancouver police following a shooting that injured one man on the Capilano Reserve.

The shooting happened on the early hours of Saturday morning. The victim was taken to hospital with a gun shot wound that is not life threatening. The three suspects were arrested in Vancouver shortly after the incident.

According to a statement issued by Squamish Nation, the incident happened on Ikwikws Road. As this is an active police investigation, the area around Ikwikws Road will remain closed while police conduct their investigation.

“The suspects have been apprehended by law enforcement and there is no further threat to the safety of our community at this time,” Squamish Nation said.  “Our thoughts and prayers are with our injured Member and his family as well as other Nation Members who have been affected by this incident.
