The Spirit of the Season Celebration will begin at The Shipyards on Saturday, December 4 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
The community is invited to take in the magic and enjoy live music, entertainment, twinkling lights, food trucks, and more festivities.
The all-ages, free, family-friendly event features activities presented by community organizations including The Museum of North Vancouver (MONOVA), North Vancouver City Library, Family Services North Shore, and the North Shore Neighbourhood House.
The event will start with a First Nations’ Blessing at 4 p.m., followed by a performance from the Eagle Song Dancers and the official lighting of the tree by Mayor Linda Buchanan at 4:30 p.m.
The festivities will also include visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, immersive holiday light displays, including the Burrard Pier, Wallace Mews, and the iconic crane.
There will be performances by local school groups, ice skaters and dance academies, food trucks, children’s activities and crafts, and visits with wandering characters such as Disney’s Anna and Elsa from Frozen
There will be traditional artisan market at The Pipe Shop, and Skating at the Skate Plaza.
Attendees are encouraged to wear masks and give each other a little extra room for physical distancing.
All booths will have a limit of participants and directions to line up if required. Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the site.
More festivities are coming to The Shipyards throughout December, including public skating, live performances, and other activities.
