Supergirl is coming to North Vancouver. The shooting for the popular Netflix show will be taking place this Tuesday and Wednesday at the Shipyards Common in North Vancouver.

The scene to be filmed are of a tourist attraction called the Tar Pitts. According to a notice by the production unit, 137 Productions will be creating Tar pit on the Shipyards Common Area.

There will be some large fabricated dinosaurs and plenty of crew, gear and signage for the work taking place. One of the scenes is a fight sequence scene, and loud noises and bright lights can be anticipated.

There will also be fake movie weapons. A RCMP officer will be on site if there are any questions.

Trucks will arrive and park for the evening as the Shipyards Common continues to be prepared for the filming. Shooting continues on Tuesday, from 8 am to 10 pm, and on Wednesday, from 8 am to 9 pm. Film crews and trucks will leave the area around 11 pm.

Residents can call 604-371-2614 if they have any questions or concerns around the shooting. The phone will be answered during filming hours. The assistant location manager, TJ Rumpel, will also be on set. Questions to CNV can be directed to 604-982-3910, or to filming@cnv.org
