Tammy Bentz is looking to be your NDP Candidate for North Vancouver in the upcoming federal election because she is ready for action. For over 18 years, Tammy is grateful to have raised her son and to continue to live, work & play on the traditional unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nations.

As a member of the 2+LGBTQ Community, Tammy has wanted to see more action and more women in our government for a long time so now she is making it happen by putting her name forward as Candidate nominee. Over the past 20 years, Tammy has worked in the film industry both in front of the camera and behind it. Her livelihood has been all about storytelling but now it’s time for action.

Throughout her career, Tammy has always taken time to be a part of her unions and associations where she was elected National Councillor for Canadian Actors’ Equity Association for several years. As well as being Co-Chair for the CAEA Women’s Committee, Tammy also volunteers with the IATSE Women’s Committee and was Treasurer on the Board of Creative Women Workshops which produces the highly acclaimed “Women In The Director’s Chair Workshop”. Tammy has also been extremely active volunteering for Bowinn Ma (our amazing North Vancouver Lonsdale MLA) as well as Climate Action Groups. Tammy’s goal is to be an active part of the solution, so she’s ready to DO what is necessary to better help her entire community.

These are the key issues that are important to Tammy:

* Climate Action – Tammy literally feels the “heat” to get moving on this important front and she supports NDP’s Green New Deal

* Protecting & Enhancing our Healthcare – Canada’s reputation around the world boasts a fabulous healthcare system…but there are gaps and areas to improve. Tammy wants to see healthcare include Vision, Dental, Mental Health and Pharmacare.

* Higher Learning Accessibility – It has been proven time and again that an educated society is an empowered society. Tammy aims to reduce barriers and give every Canadian access to education by lowering tuition costs and eliminating loan fees. As an Instructor at BCIT and as a mom, Tammy wants to see ALL our kids thrive without drowning in debt.

* Traffic Sucks! – Tammy wants to work for better transit with more housing close to where we work.

Tammy’s extensive background in communication will make her highly effective in the day to day work on the ground in the Constituency Office. She is ready to help residents navigate the system and connect them with appropriate government departments. Tammy’s central focus will be to LISTEN and RESPOND with action to Constituents’ concerns. Be sure to make your vote count and vote for Tammy Bentz in the NDP Nomination Meeting August 23rd to 25th. Make Tammy your North Vancouver NDP Candidate and count on ACTION!
