The teenager who was hit by a car in North Vancouver is making a slow recovery.

Grace Hains was seriously injured in a hit-and-run last month near Keith Road and St. Andres Avenue in North Vancouver.

She was found just after 10:15 pm on January 26, unconscious and critically injured.

The accident caused injuries to her corpus callosum, which connects the left and right hemispheres on her brain, so she can’t move the left side of her body very well, Haines wrote in an instagram post.

She has now been moved to the Sunny Hill Health Centre, where she is showing signs of improvement.

“She is strong, determined, and will get through this,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the police investigation continues.

“Our greatest concern is for the health of this young woman,” said Sgt. Peter DrVries.

“We have the investigation well in hand. The focus for everyone else right now should be on her recovery.”
