Three arrested for shooting man at Capilano Reserve

Three people were arrested following a shooting on Capilano Reserve in West Vancouver. The shooting took place  on 200 block of Ikwikws Rd on the morning of Saturday, May 14.

Harry William Nahanee, 33, of Vancouver has been charged with one count of discharging a firearm with intent to wound, one count of recklessly discharging a firearm and one count of possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm without authorization.

Nahanee remains in custody pending his next court appearance on May 17. Nahanee and the victim were known to each other and there is no information of further threats to the public.

A 33-year-old female from North Vancouver was arrested and subsequently released on conditions related to a firearms offence with a court appearance in June. The third person was arrested and then released without charges pending further investigation.

The West Vancouver Police continue to investigate this offence and are working closely with the Squamish Nation regarding the safety of the community. Police would like to speak with anyone who has any information about this incident. Anyone with information please call 604-925-7300 and quote file 2022-5151.
