This Friday, May 13, District of North Vancouver will be closing access to trail on the west side of Lynn Canyon Park that runs from the suspension bridge to Lynn Valley Road.
The trail closure will take place from 7 am to 3 pm as work crews receive supplies via helicopter to rebuild a bridge and boardwalk in the park.
Please use caution on trails and avoid the area while supplies are being dropped.
Metro Vancouver also cautions that a bridge on Headwaters Trail is closed due to damage. The creek is not safe to pass during or after times of heavy rain, though it’s passable when there is no rain. The lower part of the BCMC Route also remains closed all day Monday to Friday while trail upgrades are underway. The work is scheduled to last until Thursday, June 30.
When the route is closed, it is possible to use a detour along the Baden-Powell and Larsen trails to reconnect with the upper part of the BCMC near marker 29.
The Grouse Grind Trail also remains closed due to hazardous conditions caused by snow and ice. “For your safety, that of park staff and of first responders, please respect the closure. Parks staff will assess trail conditions daily and advise when the trail is safe to reopen,” says Metro Vancouver.
