From October 15 to 18, TransLink is installing a new descending escalator at Waterfront Station’s Canada Line entrance to provide better access and improve customer flow.
Access to the entrance of the station through the staircase will be closed during construction. The ascending escalator will be open for customers during all times of operation. The elevator will also be operational with a priority to customers with accessibility challenges.
Customers boarding the Canada Line from Waterfront Station on these days will be directed to the entrance on the southwest corner of Granville Street and West Hastings.
Customers transferring from the Expo Line to the Canada Line are encouraged to transfer at Granville Station and board at Vancouver City Centre Station.
Staff will be present at the Waterfront Station entrance during all hours of operation to provide directional assistance.
The installation of this escalator is made possible through contributions from senior levels of government and TransLink through the TransLink Maintenance and Repair program.
The new escalator will be operational for customer use later this year.
