Two employees COVID-19 positive at North Van Canada Post centre

Staff report
January 29, 2021 8:03am

Two employees at a Canada Post location in North Vancouver have tested positive for COVID-19.

The first employee tested positive on Wednesday, January 27, at the North Vancouver Delivery Centre located at 270 Harbour Avenue.

The employee last worked there on Tuesday, January 26.

Two days later, another employee working at the same location received positive tests results for COVID-19.

“While at work, the employee followed our physical distancing measures and wore personal protective equipment,” said Valérie Chartrand, Media Relations for Canada Post.

“We followed the guidance of public health in informing employees, supporting contact tracing and conducting a sanitization of the facility.”

“Since the beginning, we’ve committed to closely following the advice of public health officials at the national and local level in order to keep the employees and the people they serve safe.”

“Following their guidance, we’ve implemented numerous measures in all facets of our operations, and we follow the by-laws and requirements in each community.”

Canada Post management regularly talks to employees and require they do a self-assessment before arriving for work, Chartrand added.
