Nootka Sound RCMP is investigating after a plane crashed in the Tahsis Inlet near Mizona Point on Vancouver Island, killing two people on board the plane.
On Tuesday June 20, at approximately 2 pm, the Nootka Sound RCMP were notified of a plane crash in the Tahsis Inlet near Mizona Point. Initial information indicated that the aircraft was occupied by four individuals flying from Masset to Tofino.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and the Coast Guard responded to the scene, along with Nootka Sound RCMP that responded by utilizing a police boat. Unfortunately, the crash resulted in two fatalities. The RCMP is working alongside the Transportation Safety Board and the BC Coroners Service to determine the cause of this incident.
