UPDATE: Vancouver Police has arrested high-risk offender James Moyah yesterday on the Downtown Eastside, after an alert witness spotted him and called 9-1-1.
Moyah, 45, was wanted Canada-wide for breach of statutory release and was subject of a VPD public appeal earlier this week. The witness recognized Moyah from seeing his picture in the news, and called police shortly before noon yesterday.
Moyah is now back in custody.

Vancouver Police are asking for public assistance to locate a federal offender who failed to return to his halfway house last week.
James Larry Moyah, 45, is now unlawfully at large and wanted Canada-wide for breaching the conditions of his statutory release. Anyone who sees him should not approach.
Moyah is a two-time federal offender on statutory release for aggravated assault. He has a history of violence and substance abuse.
Moyah is Indigenous, approximately 5’10 and 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has long hair, which he often wears tied back in a ponytail, and has tattoos on his arms and back. He was last seen around 4 p.m. on October 18, and was wearing black pants, a black jacket with a white hood, and black shoes.
Anyone who sees Moyah or who has information about his whereabouts should call 9-1-1 immediately
