Upper Gallant Avenue in Deep Cove closed to traffic

Staff report
December 3, 2021 10:02am

DNV crews will be doing paving work on upper Gallant Avenue, and this will require a one-day full road closure of upper Gallant Avenue, between 7 am and 8 pm.

As a result of this paving work and road closure, vehicle traffic will be routed out of Deep Cove Village via the following detour: Naughton Avenue, Rockcliff Road, Raeburn Street, Banbury Road, Cliffmont Road to Deep Cove Road.

Traffic flaggers will be posted at key intersections along the detour route to control traffic, assist buses and vehicles, and maintain safety for pedestrians and cyclists exiting the neighbourhood.

Access to Caledonia Avenue north of Gallant Avenue will be maintained via single-lane alternating traffic on Deep Cove Road.

Expect traffic delays throughout Deep Cove on Friday between 7 am and 8 pm.

“Please follow directions from traffic flaggers and leave yourself extra time to get to your destination,” DNV says.

“We acknowledge the late notice for this closure and detour. Dry weather conditions are critical to paving work, and so we need to take advantage of the few remaining good weather days when forecasted in order to complete this important work,” DNV says.
