Kenneth Nolan Kirton, a convicted sex offender who was wanted Canada-wide after failing to return to his halfway house, has been arrested by Vancouver police and remains in custody.

According to the news release, Kirton had been living at a halfway house in the Downtown Eastside after being released from custody under a 10-year long-term supervision order. He signed out from the halfway house on July 22 and failed to return, prompting a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

Kirton, 59, has been designated a dangerous offender, the news release noted. Before his arrest, police urged the public to help locate him.  Kirton was described as 5’4″, approximately 135 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes. He had multiple tattoos, including a skull on his right forearm and a scar on his left cheek.
