VCH hiring on North Shore for COVID vaccination clinics

Staff report
March 23, 2021 8:43am

As COVID-19 vaccines continue to arrive in BC, Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for individuals to support immunization teams at clinics in North Shore.

VCH is also hiring in Sunshine Coast and Sea to Sky, Powell River, Bella Bella and Bella Coola.

VCH is actively recruiting for casual, temporary part-time and temporary full-time positions to start working at COVID-19 immunization clinics as soon as possible.

VCH is hiring for these medical positions: Retired nurse, nurse practitioners, dental hygienist immunizer, Registered nurse, and Registered Psychiatric Nurse.

Program assistants and screeners are also needed to fill non-clinical positions.

Health care student immunizer, medical student immunizer, pharmacy student immunizer, and ESN immunizer are some other positions that are available.

VCH is also building pools of select health-care professionals who are interested and available to support COVID-19 immunization clinics.

These include dentists, midwives, naturopaths, pharmacists, physicians, podiatrist, and other medical staff.

The health and safety of those hired will be a VCH priority, the health agency said.

“The critical steps to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmissions in the workplace include early identification of cases, prompt isolation, testing and monitoring, and proper infection prevention and control practices,” VCH said.

Meanwhile, VCH is looking for people to join a Vaccination Travel Team in support of the Immunization Campaign in Powell River, Sechelt, and Sea-to-Sky communities.

Positions start next week.
